昆侖山Kunlun Mountains為什么不寫成Kunlun Mountain? because和 because of的區別？

昆侖是一條山脈，山脈是由多座山組成的，即群山，所以要加S，同樣的還有Himalayas（喜馬拉雅山）。because后加原因狀語從句：I am late because I was ill.because of后加表示原因的詞組或短語：I am late because of my illness.
