purdue has an excellent engineering program. it is NOT a part of ivy league. west lafayette is a pretty cheap place to live. it's a college town. chicago is not far, so if you get really bored, you can visit chicago.MBA from purdue is just ok, barely in the top 25. i highly doubt there is a 1 year program. be careful what you sign up for.
